Dual Voltage Hair Straighteners for travelling abroad?

Friday 10th October,2008

Often when planning to travel abroad, a major concern for most women, and sometimes men, is whether or not they will have the styling tools available to create that gorgeous look that they desire. After all it’s when on holiday that people want to look and feel their best.

Hair straighteners are often talked about as ‘a girl’s best friend’. In recent times, some efforts have been made by the major hair straightener brands to address the problem of travelling with your styling tools. We will use the HG-Hair brand as an example. The first straightener that HG Hair released onto the UK market had a UK-Euro convertible plug which meant that anyone travelling from the UK to any European country was able to use their straighteners whilst on their travels. However, if you felt a bit more adventurous when choosing your destination and travelled to countries such as the US and Australia, the problem is that your straighteners, due to voltage differences in these countries, would simply not work. Not an ideal situation for a Goddess to find herself in whilst relaxing in a glamorous location. Often a girl would be faced with a choice of splashing out over £100 on one of the top brands such as ghd or HG Hair. However, due to practicalities, most girls would have to settle for a cheaper pair of straighteners and just survive the holiday period.

However, times have changed and the top hair straightener brands have recognised that it’s simply a nightmare scenario for any girl to go on holiday without her ‘best friend’. These brands have developed straighteners that incorporate a feature called duel voltage which basically means that the straighteners, providing that they have a convertible plug, can be used anywhere in the world. Great news for all self respecting goddesses!

So, to give you an example, if you are planning on travelling to the USA with your straighteners, then using a duel voltage straightener, you simply have to purchase a UK-USA adaptor plug (usually costing around £4.99, which is considerably better than splashing out over £100 on a pair of straighteners, or even £25 on a pair of cheapos)!

Ben Collins (Founder of HG Hair) commented ‘at HG Hair we always strive to utilise new technological advances to develop products that meet our customer's needs. It's obvious that it's any girls nightmare to look anything but her best whilst on her holidays and this is why all of our new range of hair stylers include this great new feature. We believe that it will be well received and very much appreciated by our customers’.

The good news is that this improvement in specification and performance has not been reflected in a price increase and HG Hair irons are available from the www.hg-hair .co.uk online store for the great price of just £59.99. HG Hair also sells a range of accessories such as travel bags and roll mats to enable you to keep your much treasured straighteners in tip top condition whilst on your travels.
